Regular Season Round 15: Jolly JBS - Gorica 78-70

The game in Sibenik was quite interesting. 6th ranked Gorica (6-8) played at the court of eighth ranked Jolly (5-9). Jolly managed to secure a 8-point victory 78-70 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Gorica won third quarter 21-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Jolly dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Gorica's 22. The best player for the winners was American point guard James Washington (182-87, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 20 points and 8 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Center Ivan Vranes (205-96) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Ivan Papac (207-87, agency: PEPI SPORT) who recorded 11 points and 9 rebounds and Bosnian forward Ante Masic (200-85, agency: Global Sports Plaza) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Five Jolly and four Gorica players scored in double figures. Gorica's coach Josip Sesar rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Jolly maintains eighth place with 5-9 record, which they share with Skrljevo. Gorica lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with eight games lost. Jolly is looking forward to face KK Zabok (#10) in Zabok in the next round. Gorica will play at home against Ribola Kastela (#11) and is hoping to win this game.
