Regular Season Round 34: Niigata Albirex - Sendai 89ers 86-77

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Sendai 89ers (22-8) on the court of fourth ranked Niigata Albirex on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Niigata Albirex 86-77. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-77. 30 personal fouls committed by Sendai 89ers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Jamaican-American power forward Ryan Reid (204-86, college: Florida St., agency: Comsport) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Reggie Hamilton (182-89, college: Oakland) contributed with 23 points and 8 assists for the winners. Five Niigata Albirex players scored in double figures. American power forward Jamal Boykin (203-87, college: California) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Wendell White (198-84, college: UNLV) added 23 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Sendai 89ers. Niigata Albirex maintains fourth position with 18-12 record. Sendai 89ers at the other side still keep top place with eight games lost. Niigata Albirex are looking forward to face Saitama Broncos (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sendai 89ers will play against the league's second-placed Toyama Grouses (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
