The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Armani Milano (13-5) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by sixth ranked Scandone AV (10-8) 81-80. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Armani Milano. Armani Milano was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Scandone AV looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American forward James Nunnally (201-90, college: UCSB) scored 20 points to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Maarten Leunen (206-85, college: Oregon) chipped in 8 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Croatian swingman Krunoslav Simon (197-85) with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and Lithuanian point guard Mantas Kalnietis (195-86, agency: Players Group) scored 15 points and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Scandone AV have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 10-8 record, which they share with Umana VE. Armani Milano at the other side still keeps top place with five games lost. They share the position with Grissin Bon RE. Scandone AV is looking forward to face higher ranked Giorgo Tesi PT (#4) in Pistoia in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Armani Milano will play at home against Juvecaserta and is hoping to win this game.
