Regular Season Round 16: Singapore S. - Saigon H. 84-69

An interesting game for Singapore Singapore Slingers (13-2) which hosted in Singapore 4th ranked Vietnamese Saigon Heat (6-10). First ranked Singapore Slingers had an easy win 84-69. The game was mostly controlled by Singapore Slingers. Saigon Heat was better in fourth quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Singapore Slingers forced 23 Saigon Heat turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Justin Howard (208-81, college: Mercer) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 blocks and Filipino guard Kris Rosales (183, college: Hope International) who added 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Singapore Slingers players scored in double figures. At the losing side American power forward Paul Williams (208-83, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: I.D.S. Law) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import Lenny Daniel (203-87, college: CS Northridge) scored 8 points and 13 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Singapore Slingers have an impressive 13-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-2 record. Saigon Heat at the other side keeps the fourth place with ten games lost. Singapore Slingers will play against Hitech (#3) in Bangkok in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Saigon Heat will have a break next round.
