We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked ASA Jerusalem (6-12) lost at home to sixth ranked Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (6-12) 84-73. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion forced 19 ASA Jerusalem turnovers. Strangely ASA Jerusalem outrebounded Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion 44-27 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. ASA Jerusalem was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Puerto Rican-American point guard Jennifer O'Neill (168-90, college: Kentucky) scored 32 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and American Ashley Shields (180-85, college: SW Tenn.St.CC) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American center Shamela Hampton (191-87, college: UNLV) with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 19 rebounds and her fellow American import forward Asia Taylor (185-91, college: Louisville, agency: LBM Management) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion moved-up to fifth place, which they share with defeated ASA Jerusalem. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion will play against Elitzur Holon (#7) at home in the next round. ASA Jerusalem will play against Maccabi Ashdod and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
