Regular Season Round 21: Braunschweig - Phoenix Hagen 93-79

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Braunschweig and 9th ranked Phoenix Hagen had identical 10-10 record. This time Braunschweig used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Hagen 93-79. It looked good early as Phoenix Hagen took a 12-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Braunschweig took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 14 points. The best player for the winners was American center Kenny Frease (212-89, college: Xavier) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists. Canadian-Jamaican point guard Jermaine Anderson (188-83, college: Fordham) chipped in 21 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Four Braunschweig players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman J.J. Mann (198-91, college: Belmont) who recorded 24 points and the other American import D.J. Covington (203-91, college: VMI) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Braunschweig (11-10) moved-up to ninth place. Phoenix Hagen at the other side dropped to the tenth position with 11 games lost. Braunschweig's next round opponent will be higher ranked Bayern Muenchen (#3) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Phoenix Hagen will play against s Oliver Baskets (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
