Regular Season Round 17: Cambados - Sammic ISB 63-76

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Sammic ISB (11-6) beat on the road 11th ranked Cambados (6-11) 76-63. It looked good early as Cambados took a 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Sammic ISB took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 13 points. The best player for the winners was Croatian center Aleksandar Marcius (209-90, college: De Paul) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). French-American forward Jordan Semple (201-92, college: Chico St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Cape Verdean-Portuguese forward Joel Almeida (195-85, college: Brockport St.) produced 17 points and 9 rebounds and Ivorian forward Adjehi Baru (206-91, college: Charleston) added 6 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sammic ISB have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 11-6 record having just two points less than leader Marin, which they share with 3 other teams. Cambados at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Sammic ISB's next round opponent will be Blancos de Rueda (#9) in Valladolid which should be theoretically an easy game. Cambados will play on the road against Clinicas Rincon in Malaga and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
