Regular Season Round 16: Alkar Sinj - KK Zagreb 79-92

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Alkar Sinj (6-8) lost at home to second ranked KK Zagreb (13-2) 92-79 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. KK Zagreb dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Alkar Sinj's 30. Alkar Sinj was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for Bosnian forward Miralem Halilovic (205-91, agency: Alti Sport) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Luka Bozic (199-96, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 22 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Guard Josip Glavinic (192-82) replied with 20 points and 4 assists and forward Nikola Gaurina (198-83, agency: Interperformances) added 18 points in the effort for Alkar Sinj. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. KK Zagreb have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Loser Alkar Sinj dropped to the sixth place with eight games lost. KK Zagreb will face league's second-placed Kvarner in Rijeka in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Alkar Sinj will play on the road against KK Skrljevo (#9) and hope to win that game.
