Regular Season Round 17: Castelldefels - Miramar 80-68

There was a small surprise when eighth ranked Castelldefels (7-10) beat at home 5th ranked Miramar (7-10) 80-68 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Castelldefels. Miramar was better in fourth quarter 18-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Castelldefels forced 19 Miramar turnovers. Miramar was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Marc Sese (188-93) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 7 rebounds. Guard David Avila (182-95) contributed with 19 points and 5 assists for the winners. Center Carlos Bustamante (200-88) answered with 14 points and guard Alberto Garcia (192-87) added 11 points in the effort for Miramar. Miramar's coach Pau Tomas tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Castelldefels moved-up to fifth place in Group C-B, which they share with Miramar and Andorra II. Miramar lost their fourth game in a row. Castelldefels will face Castellbisbal (#9) on the road in the next round. Miramar will play against Santfeliuenc (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
