Regular Season Round 17: Igualada - Castellbisbal 76-75

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Castellbisbal (5-12) was edged on the road by third ranked Igualada (10-7) 76-75 on Saturday. However just one-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 18-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Igualada looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Eduard Burges (190-90) saved the victory by scoring 8 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Albert Del Hoyo (192-92) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Four Igualada players scored in double figures. Guard Roger Guardia (193-85, college: CS Fullerton) answered with 21 points and 6 rebounds and forward Marc Manes (196-86) added 20 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) in the effort for Castellbisbal. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Igualada. Newly promoted Igualada maintains third place in Group C-B with 10-7 record having seven points less than leader L'Hospitalet, which they share with Santfeliuenc. Castellbisbal lost their fifth game in a row. Castellbisbal at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the ninth position with 12 games lost. Igualada will face league's second-placed AEC Collblanc in L´Hospitalet in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Castellbisbal will play at home against Castelldefels (#5) and hope to win that game.
