Regular Season Round 17: Real Canoe - Torrelodones 70-46
Date: February 6, 2016
Rather expected game when 9th ranked Torrelodones (6-8) was smashed by sixth ranked Real Canoe (8-6) in Madrid 70-46 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Real Canoe. Torrelodones was better in fourth quarter 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Torrelodones to just 6 points in second quarter. Real Canoe made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Torrelodones 37-23 including 25 on the defensive glass. Forward Ignacio Fort (200-83) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 9 rebounds. Power forward Daniel Yusta (201-86) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Forward Javier Salson (199-82, college: Bloomfield, agency: Duran International) answered with 15 points and 8 rebounds and Jordan Djounorou added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Torrelodones. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Real Canoe moved-up to fifth place in Group B, which they share with Azuqueca. Torrelodones at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. Real Canoe will face Villarrobledo (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Torrelodones will play against the league's second-placed Quintanar (#2) and hope to win that game.
