Second Stage Round 5: Eskilstuna - IK Eos 72-68

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked IK Eos (1-5) were defeated on the road by eighth ranked Eskilstuna (2-5) 72-68 on Saturday. IK Eos were trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 24-18 charge of Eskilstuna, which allowed them to win the game. Eskilstuna had a 28-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. British-Cameroonian forward Franck Kouagnia (201-89) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and guard Hannes Widell (183-94) chipped in 9 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Point guard Adnan Karovic (188-88) responded with 29 points and 5 rebounds and David Terins (192-95) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Eskilstuna moved-up to sixth place in Superettan. Loser IK Eos dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Eskilstuna will face higher ranked KFUM Central (#5) in Stockholm in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. IK Eos will play at home against the league's second-placed LF Future and hope to win that game.
