A very interesting game took place in Ciudad Victoria. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 10th ranked Panteras (9-23) to ninth ranked Correcaminos (11-20) 94-93 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Panteras. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Correcaminos made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Panteras helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American guard Harrison Smith (190-87, college: Texas Southern, agency: Inception Sports) who scored 24 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import swingman Brandon Davis (198-88, college: Lamar, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 23 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Raymont McElroy (190-89, college: W.Virg.Wesl.) who recorded 25 points and 5 rebounds and American-Panamanian Levour Warren (196-81, college: S.Carolina) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Five Correcaminos and four Panteras players scored in double figures. Correcaminos moved-up to eighth place. Panteras at the other side keep the tenth position with 23 games lost. Correcaminos' next round opponent will be higher ranked Jefes (#5) in Lagunera and it may be quite challenging game. Panteras will play at home against Fuerza Regia (#3) and hope to win that game.
