Regular Season Round 19: Valosun Brno - Strakonice 83-56

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Strakonice (1-17) was crushed on the road by third ranked Valosun Brno (12-6) 83-56 on Saturday. Valosun Brno dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Strakonice's 26. Valosun Brno forced 19 Strakonice turnovers and outrebounded them 43-20 including a 31-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for point guard Sarah Berankova (176-96) who led her team to a victory scoring 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Slovakian forward Veronika Remenarova (184-97) helped adding 11 points and 7 rebounds. Valosun Brno's coach felt very confident using entire bench saving starting five for next games. At the losing side swingman Jolana Krejcova (177-96) responded with 17 points and forward Michaela Gaislerova (179-97) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Valosun Brno maintains third place with 12-6 record having five points less than leader Nymburk, which they share with Kara Trutnov. Strakonice lost their fifth game in a row. They stay dead last with 17 lost games. Valosun Brno will meet league's second-placed Sokol Hradec Kralove on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Strakonice will play against BLK Praha (#6) and hope to win that game.
