Not a big story in a game in Lublin where 17th ranked MKS Start (3-16) was defeated by seventh ranked Asseco (12-8) 80-69 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-69. Asseco dominated on the defensive end, holding MKS Start to just 7 points in second quarter. Guard Filip Matczak (187-93) fired 25 points and 4 assists for the winners. The former international Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz (201-79) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Power forward Marcin Salamonik (202-83) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Grzegorz Malecki (195-84, agency: Promotex) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Asseco maintains seventh place with 12-8 record. MKS Start lost their eighth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Asseco will face higher ranked Anwil (#3) in Wloclawek in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. MKS Start will play on the road against Rosa (#4) in Radom and hope to win that game.
