Regular Season Round 16: Nishinomiya S. - Toyota Alvark 59-99

Very expected game in Hyogo where 11th ranked Nishinomiya S. (5-24) was crushed by first ranked Toyota Alvark (25-4) 99-59 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Toyota Alvark. Nishinomiya S. was better in fourth quarter 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Toyota Alvark dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Nishinomiya S.'s 42. Toyota Alvark had a 33-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Toyota Alvark made 9 blocks. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) who added 15 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. At the losing side Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) responded with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and center Dillion Sneed (203-84, college: E.Tenn.St.) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Toyota Alvark have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 25-4 record. Nishinomiya S. lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 24 games lost. Toyota Alvark will face Kumamoto V. (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Nishinomiya S. will play against Chiba Jets and hope to win that game.
