Regular Season Round 14: UCC Demons - DCU Saints 102-73

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked UCC Demons as it allowed them to take a leadership position. UCC Demons smashed 8th ranked DCU Saints in Cork 102-73. UCC Demons shot 61.9 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for UCC Demons especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Lehmon Colbert (198-88, college: Jacksonville) who had a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field). International point guard Kyle Hosford (175-89) chipped in 9 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists. Four UCC Demons players scored in double figures. American forward Duane Johnson (201-91, college: E.Stroudsburg) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds and international center Martins Provizors (202-87) added 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for the guests. UCC Demons (12-2) have an impressive five-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. DCU Saints at the other side keep the eighth place with ten games lost. DCU Saints will play next round against Swords Thunder trying to get back on the winning streak. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will face at home their local rival from Dublin - Swords Thunder. UCC Demons will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
