The game in Weissenhorn supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Giants (12-6) played at the court of 7th ranked Weissenhorn Youngstars (7-11). Giants smashed Weissenhorn Youngstars 85-63 on Sunday. Giants held Weissenhorn Youngstars to an opponent 24.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 45.9 percent accuracy of the winners and made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. Giants forced 21 Weissenhorn Youngstars turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Giants made 9 blocks. Point guard Janek Schmidkunz (183-90, college: Amer.Internat.) scored 31 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Jordan Talbert (198-91, college: Missouri So.) chipped in 20 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Newly promoted Giants maintains third position in South with 12-6 record having just three points less than leader Iserlohn. Weissenhorn Youngstars lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Dresden and Wuerzburg. Giants will meet at home Speyer (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Weissenhorn Youngstars will play against Fraport Skyliners II (#4) in Frankfurt and hope to secure a win.
