Very expected game when 15th ranked Taranto (5-15) was smashed on the road by seventh ranked Senigallia (10-10) 80-54 on Sunday. Senigallia dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Taranto's 24. Guard Andrea Barsanti (189-86) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 4 assists. Forward Mirco Pierantoni (200-81) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Four Senigallia players scored in double figures. Senigallia's coach Alessandro Valli felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Salvatore Orlando (202-80) replied with 12 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Stefano Poti (192-91) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Taranto. Senigallia maintains seventh position in B with 10-10 record. Loser Taranto dropped to the fourteenth place with 15 games lost. Senigallia will face higher ranked Pescara (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Taranto will play against Valmontone (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
