Regular Season Round 17: Valencia II - Sagunto 76-48

Date: February 7, 2016
Everything went according to plan when third ranked Valencia-2 (11-5) outplayed at home 9th ranked Sagunto (3-13) 76-48 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Valencia-2. Sagunto was better in fourth quarter 15-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Valencia-2 forced 23 Sagunto turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Sagunto's players. Jon Galarza (193-97) orchestrated the victory by scoring 5 points and 10 rebounds. Center Borja Soriano (204-96) contributed with 10 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American forward Devin Kastrup (203-92, college: Western St.) answered with 12 points and center Jose Beltran (205-92) added 4 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Sagunto. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Valencia-2 maintains third place in Group E with 11-5 record having seven points less than leader L'Hospitalet. Sagunto lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. Valencia-2 will face UCAM Murcia II (#7) on the road in the next round. Sagunto will play against Myrtia and hope to win that game.
