Regular Season Round 17: Hiroshima D. - Hitachi SR 70-83

No shocking result in a game in Hiroshima where fifth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (20-11) defeated 9th ranked Dragonflies (11-19) 83-70. The game was mostly controlled by Hitachi Sunrockers. Dragonflies was better in fourth quarter 29-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was dominated by American players. Power forward Joshua Heytvelt (210-86, college: Gonzaga) nailed 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) accounted for 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Hitachi Sunrockers players scored in double figures. Forward Haminn Quaintance (203-85, college: Kent St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Shannon Shorter (193-89, college: N.Texas) added 22 points respectively for Dragonflies in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Hitachi Sunrockers maintains fifth place with 20-11 record. Dragonflies at the other side dropped to the eighth position with 19 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will have a break next round. Dragonflies will play again at home against Hitachi Sunrockers (#5) and hope to win that game.
