Regular Season Round 18: Hitech - KL Dragons 89-108

An exciting game was played in Bangkok. Third ranked Malaysian KL Dragons faced second-best Thailand Hitech. Guests from Kuala Lumpur (13-4) smashed host Hitech (13-5) 108-89. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by KL Dragons. Hitech managed to win third quarter 27-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. KL Dragons forced 20 Hitech turnovers and outrebounded them 46-27 including a 34-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Hitech's players. The best player for the winners was American center Reggie Johnson (208-89, college: Miami, FL, agency: Three Eye Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists. Canadian guard Matthew Wright (193-91, college: St.Bonaventure) chipped in 36 points (!!!). At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Tyler Lamb (196-91, college: Long Beach St.) who recorded 27 points and American-Israeli point guard Freddie Goldstein (178-88, college: S.Alabama) added 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hitech's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. KL Dragons have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Hitech at the other side dropped to the third position with five games lost. KL Dragons are looking forward to face league's leader Singapore Slingers on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hitech will play against Pilipinas Agilas and is hoping to win this game.
