Regular Season Round 21: Gigantes - Guaiqueries 86-76

Bottom-ranked Gigantes managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the series of two consecutive losses on Thursday night. This time they won against sixth-ranked Guaiqueries in Puerto Ordaz 86-76. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Guaiqueries. The game was mostly controlled by Gigantes. Guaiqueries managed to win fourth quarter 27-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was point guard Harold Cazorla (175-91) who scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. American Quinnel Brown (198-83, college: Auburn) chipped in 15 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international swingman Cesar Silva (190-81) who recorded 17 points and 6 rebounds and Puerto Rican guard Jezreel De Jesus (185-91) added 18 points and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gigantes maintains tenth place with 4-13 record. Loser Guaiqueries keep the sixth position with eight games lost. Gigantes will again meet at home higher ranked Guaiqueries (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Guaiqueries will have a break next round.
