Very important is a home loss of second ranked Pioneros (29-4) against fourth ranked Halcones Rojos (19-16) on Thursday night. Host Pioneros were defeated by Halcones Rojos in Cancun 98-86. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Pioneros. The game without a history. Halcones Rojos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Halcones Rojos shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 65.2 percentage. American forward Adrian Henning (203-82, college: Austin Peay St., agency: Pro Sports) nailed 26 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import swingman Devin Sweetney (198-87, college: St.Francis, PA) accounted for 26 points and 4 assists. The former international forward Stephen Soriano (200-85, college: Colorado Mesa) came up with 22 points and American-Puerto Rican point guard Denis Clemente (183-86, college: Kansas St.) added 14 points and 8 assists respectively for Pioneros in the defeat. Four Pioneros players scored in double figures. Pioneros' coach Manuel Cintron rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Halcones Rojos maintains fourth place with 19-16 record. Pioneros at the other side keep the second position with four games lost. Halcones Rojos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
