An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Palanga. First ranked Suduva-Mantinga faced 4th placed Palanga. Guests from Marijampole (25-5) defeated host Palanga (17-13) 81-66. The game without a history. Suduva-Mantinga led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The former international Aurimas Kieza (202-82, college: Hofstra) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds. Swingman Gintautas Matulis (195-86) contributed with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Five Suduva-Mantinga players scored in double figures. Guard Mindaugas Reminas (187-86) answered with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and center Matas Jucikas (205-94) added 12 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Palanga. Suduva-Mantinga maintains first place with 25-5 record. Palanga at the other side dropped to the fifth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Zalgiris II. Suduva-Mantinga will play against Zalgiris II (#5) in Kaunas in the next round. Palanga will play on the road against Mazeikiai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
