Regular Season Round 17: Lille - Nantes 72-78

Date: February 12, 2016
Rather predictable result when thirteenth ranked Nantes (8-9) beat on the road 16th ranked Lille Metropole (6-11) 78-72 on Friday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 27-12 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Nantes forced 19 Lille Metropole turnovers. The best player for the winners was American Storm Warren (201-88, college: LSU, agency: I.D.S. Law) who scored 21 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Durham is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Nantes' coach Franck Collineau used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Jamal Jones (203-93, college: Texas A&M, agency: HMS) produced 17 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and forward Thomas Ceci-Diop (199-92) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Nantes moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Lille Metropole dropped to the seventeenth position with 11 games lost. Nantes will face bottom-ranked Orchesien BC (#18) in Orchies in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lille Metropole will play on the road against Provence Basket in Fos-sur-Mer and hope to win that game.
