There was a small surprise when seventh ranked CAM E.Soler (5-9) beat 5th ranked Cazorla (5-9) in Melilla 86-77 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 45-34 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. CAM E.Soler forced 28 Cazorla turnovers. Strangely Cazorla outrebounded CAM E.Soler 43-31 including a 36-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for power forward Jose Martinez (201-88) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Alvaro Garcia (185-96) contributed with 26 points and 6 steals for the winners. Four CAM E.Soler players scored in double figures. CAM E.Soler's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Senegalese center Mouhamadou Diop (212-83) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds and Senegalese center Serigne Seck (205-90) added 11 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Cazorla. CAM E.Soler have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place in Group D-East, which they share with Cazorla and Velez. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
