Very expected game when 9th ranked Gunma (14-19) lost on the road to third ranked Akita Happinets (21-10) 78-68. Akita Happinets had a 30-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. 26 personal fouls committed by Gunma helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Ray Turner (206-90, college: Texas A&M) fired a double-double by scoring 31 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. Guard Shigehiro Taguchi (184-90) chipped in 17 points.
