Regular Season Round 18: Andujar - Medacbasket 70-71

A very close game took place in Andujar between Medacbasket and Andujar. First ranked Medacbasket (11-3) got a very close victory on the road over 3rd ranked Andujar (8-6). Medacbasket managed to escape with a 1-point win 71-70 on Saturday evening. Andujar was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. American forward Alex Jackson (200-84, college: Mo.-St.Louis) notched 20 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Germinal Cabrita (187-86) supported him with 10 points. Jackson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 19 points and 5 rebounds by center Joaquin Garcia (202-86) did not help to save the game for Andujar. Point guard Daniel Munoz (188-87) added 10 points and 5 rebounds. Four Andujar players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Medacbasket maintains first position in Group D-East with 11-3 record. Loser Andujar dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
