Regular Season Round 18: Moron - Granada 59-61

The most exciting game of round 18 in the LEB Silver took place in MorĂ³n de la Frontera. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 8th ranked Moron (8-10) to sixth ranked CB Granada (12-6) 61-59 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 14-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The former international center Jesus Fernandez (204-75) had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard John Schoof (196, college: American, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) chipped in 14 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Alejandro Marin (190-88) with 15 points and American forward Mike Phillips (201-91, college: Howard) scored 15 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. CB Granada have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Moron lost third consecutive game. Moron at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Valladolid. CB Granada is looking forward to face Sammic ISB (#3) in Azpeitia in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Moron will play on the road against Zornotza (#12) in Amorebieta-Echano and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
