Regular Season Round 18: Easo - Estela 62-74

EBA round 18 most important game was a victory of Estela over one of their biggest challengers Easo 74-62 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Easo. It was a key game for the second position in Group A-A. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 74-62. Estela dominated on the defensive end, holding Easo to just 5 points in third quarter. They also forced 19 Easo turnovers and outrebounded them 41-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American center Aaron Brackett (204-90, college: NC-Greensboro) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. The other American import guard Riley Stockton (192-92, college: Seattle Pacific) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Estela players scored in double figures. Point guard Iker Arrieta (180-92) replied with 15 points and forward Asier Azpeitia (-98) added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Easo. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Estela (11-3) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position in Group A-A having eleven points less than leader L'Hospitalet, which they share with Santurtzi and Ardoi. Easo at the other side dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. Estela is looking forward to face Zarautz (#14) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Easo will play against La Fecha (#13) in Arroyo Encomienda and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
