Regular Season Round 18: Toshiba BT - Nishinomiya S. 104-76

Very expected game when 11th ranked Nishinomiya S. (7-25) was smashed by fourth ranked Toshiba Thunders (22-11) in Kanagawa 104-76 on Saturday. The game without a history. Toshiba Thunders led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Toshiba Thunders outrebounded Nishinomiya S. 41-30 including 34 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. Toshiba Thunders looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Nishinomiya S.'s players. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds. Center Brian Butch (211-84, college: Wisconsin) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Toshiba Thunders' coach Takuya Kita felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds and center Dillion Sneed (203-84, college: E.Tenn.St.) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Nishinomiya S.Toshiba Thunders maintains fourth position with 22-11 record, which they share with Hitachi SR. Loser Nishinomiya S. keeps the eleventh place with 25 games lost. Toshiba Thunders will face bottom-ranked Tsukuba R. (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Nishinomiya S. will play against Aishin Sea Horses and hope to win that game.
