Regular Season Round 18: UCAM Murcia II - Valencia II 85-80

There was a surprise result when seventh ranked UCAM Murcia II (7-10) beat at home higher ranked Valencia-2 (11-6) 85-80 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. UCAM Murcia II outrebounded Valencia-2 41-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American-Nigerian point guard David Fatoki (178, college: Wash.-St.Louis, agency: Duran International) who led his team to a victory with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Power forward Juan Oliva (203-97) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Guard Adria Duch (185-95) replied with 22 points and swingman Luis Panos (192-93) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Valencia-2. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Valencia-2's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. UCAM Murcia II moved-up to sixth place in Group E. Loser Valencia-2 dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. UCAM Murcia II's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Murcia to the arena Myrtia.
