No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Cantbasket (8-5) beat on the road 11th ranked Mondragon (3-11) 78-72 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 39-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Cantbasket shot 24 for 34 from the free-throw line, while Mondragon only scored eight points from the stripe. Mondragon was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American guard DeAngelo Hailey (190-90, college: NW Missouri St.) who led his team to a victory with 27 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals. Guard Andres Pariente (179-95) contributed with 22 points and 4 assists for the winners. Point guard Imanol Ceciaga (186-90) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 assists and power forward Benat Barberena (204-89) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Mondragon. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Cantbasket have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position in Group A-A with 8-5 record. Cantbasket will face league's leader Pielagos in Renedo de Pielagos in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
