An interesting game for Marinos (13-5) which hosted in Puerto La Cruz 4th placed Guaros (9-7). Second ranked Marinos managed to get a 7-point victory 82-75. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 48-40 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Marinos looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American-Georgian point guard Corey Fisher (186-88, college: Villanova, agency: Octagon Europe) who led the winners and scored 15 points and 8 assists. The former international swingman Jose Vargas (195-82, agency: Pro Sports) accounted for 16 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Marinos players scored in double figures. American guard Damien Wilkins (198-80, college: Georgia, agency: Priority Sports) came up with 26 points and 7 rebounds and Nestor Colmenares (203-87, college: Campbellsville, agency: Pro Sports) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Guaros in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Loser Guaros keep the fourth place with seven games lost.
