Regular Season Round 18: Valladolid Univ. - Ardoi 63-69

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Ardoi (11-3) defeated on the road 7th ranked Valladolid Univ. (6-8) 69-63 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Valladolid Univ. won third quarter 19-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ardoi had a 32-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for naturalized Ukrainian forward Anton Savitski (196-86) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Center Andres Zabaleta (200-94) contributed with 8 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Guard Ricardo Gomez (185-90) replied with 14 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Alvaro Encinas (202-94) added 12 points in the effort for Valladolid Univ.Valladolid Univ.'s coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Ardoi moved-up to second place in Group A-A, which they share with Santurtzi and Estela. Loser Valladolid Univ. dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. Ardoi will face Mondragon (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Valladolid Univ. will play against Clavijo in Logrono and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
