Regular Season Round 18: Almassera - L`Alfas 79-66

Everything went according to plan when second ranked Almassera (13-4) defeated 6th ranked L`Alfas (6-10) in Valencia 79-66 on Saturday. Almassera forced 26 L`Alfas turnovers. L`Alfas was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for forward Jacobo Hofmann (198-92) who led his team to a victory with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Dutch forward Jordan Kaspers (197-91) contributed with 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Belarusian power forward Ivan Zhauniarovich (205-86) replied with 21 points and 6 rebounds and Iker Benzazoua added 18 points in the effort for L`Alfas. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Almassera maintains second position in Group E with 13-4 record having six points less than leader L'Hospitalet. L`Alfas lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the seventh place with ten games lost. Almassera will face Paterna (#5) on the road in the next round. L`Alfas will play against Sagunto and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
