Very expected game when 10th ranked Cartagena (2-15) lost at home to first ranked Gandia Basquet (16-1) 74-59 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 15 points. It was a good game for forward Daniel Marti (203-89, college: Union, TN) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Fitzgerald White (201-91, college: Union, KY) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Marti is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Gandia Basquet's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Yima Chia-Kur (196-86, college: Arkansas St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and guard Chema Albaladejo (191-90) added 16 points in the effort for Cartagena. Gandia Basquet have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group E with 16-1 record. Cartagena lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 15 games lost. Gandia Basquet will face Benidorm (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cartagena will play against Valencia-2 and hope to win that game.
