There was a minor upset when higher ranked JA Vichy (8-9) was defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked Saint-Quentin (8-9) 69-64 on Saturday. JA Vichy was trailing by 9 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 19-13 charge of Saint-Quentin, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 25 JA Vichy turnovers. JA Vichy was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American swingman Daviin Davis (193-85, college: Weber St.) who scored 14 points and 4 steals. Nigerian power forward Dinma Odiakosa (203-85, college: Illinois St., agency: Inception Sports) chipped in 8 points and 8 rebounds. Saint-Quentin's coach Jean Manuel Sousa used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American-British power forward Tafari Toney (202-86) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and American swingman Jason Williams (198-83, college: UTEP, agency: HMS) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Saint-Quentin moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated JA Vichy. Saint-Quentin will face Charleville-Mezieres (#10) on the road in the next round.
