Second Stage Round 3: Barreirense - Ginasio 77-73

There was a small surprise in Barreiro where Barreirense (5-3) defeated Ginasio (4-3) 77-73 on Saturday. Barreirense forced 22 Ginasio turnovers. It was a great evening for Cape Verdean forward Kevin Coronel (197-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 9 rebounds. Swingman Daniel Margarido (191-92) helped adding 17 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was naturalized Cape Verdean forward Joaquim Soares (198-83) with 29 points and the former international center Marco Goncalves (206-84) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Barreirense will meet Guifoes (#13) on the road in the next round. Ginasio will play against Estoril Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
