The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Inter Bratislava as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Inter Bratislava smashed bottom-ranked Nova Ves at home 126-49. Inter Bratislava dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Nova Ves' 26 and had 26 for 39 from the free-throw line, while Nova Ves only scored two points from the stripe. Inter Bratislava forced 24 Nova Ves turnovers and outrebounded them 44-22 including a 35-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Inter Bratislava shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 33 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Nova Ves' players. Nova Ves were plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for the former international power forward Radoslav Rancik (205-79, college: St.Cloud St., agency: Beo Basket) who led his team to a victory with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Montenegrin point guard Goran Bulatovic (186-88) contributed with 18 points, 7 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Five Inter Bratislava players scored in double figures. Forward Boris Kovalik (194-89) answered with 9 points and 5 assists and guard Daniel Lenart (188-88) added 9 points in the effort for Nova Ves. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Nova Ves at the other side still closes the standings. Nova Ves will play next round against Iskra Svit trying to get back on the winning streak. Inter Bratislava will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Prievidza on the road.
