Regular Season Round 17: Dinamo Tbilisi - Mgzavrebi 86-63

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Dinamo Tbilisi as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Batumi) loss. Dinamo Tbilisi smashed 4th placed Mgzavrebi at home 86-63. It looked good early as Mgzavrebi took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Dinamo Tbilisi had a 24-9 second period charge getting the lead and Mgzavrebi was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 63-86. Dinamo Tbilisi shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Canadian guard Juevol Myles (185-89, college: S.Dakota) nailed 17 points and 5 assists for the winning side and the former international Mikheil Berishvili (204-87) accounted for 13 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Four Dinamo Tbilisi players scored in double figures. American point guard Kaheem Ransom (185, college: Sam Houston St.) came up with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and Avtandili Lominashvili (204-92) added 23 points respectively for Mgzavrebi in the defeat. Mgzavrebi's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Batumi. Mgzavrebi at the other side keeps the fourth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Sokhumi. Mgzavrebi will play next round against Olimpi trying to get back on the winning streak. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena of Olimpi. Dinamo Tbilisi will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked MIA. It will be extra interesting game as MIA is their local rival from Tbilisi.
