Second Stage Round 6: Alvik Basket - Ostersund 86-59

The game between closely ranked teams ended with first ranked Alvik Basket's (11-2) home victory over second-best Ostersund (10-4) 86-59 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Alvik Basket. Ostersund was better in fourth quarter 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Alvik Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Ostersund's 22. Alvik Basket forced 19 Ostersund turnovers and outrebounded them 48-33 including 18 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Ostersund's players. The best player for the winners was forward Emil Haglund (195-96) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds. Forward Mathias Liljeqvist (196-92) chipped in 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Alvik Basket players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Anton Kobylak-Berglund (200-96) who recorded 24 points and forward Mikael Jonsson (193-91) added 9 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Alvik Basket maintains first position in BEHN forts with 11-2 record. Newly promoted Ostersund keeps the second place with four games lost. Alvik Basket will face KFUM Blackeberg (#5) in Vallingby in the next round. Ostersund will play on the road against Orongo Dragons in Sundsvall and hope to win that game.
