Regular Season Round 18: Aishin SH - Hokkaido L. 61-68

There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Hokkaido L. (14-19) beat 3rd ranked Aishin Sea Horses (23-8) in Kariya 68-61 on Sunday. Aishin Sea Horses trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 23-17 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 61-68 at the end of the game. It was a good game for American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: Inception Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds. The other American import forward Jahmar Thorpe (198-84, college: Houston) contributed with 10 points for the winners. The former international center J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) replied with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) added 17 points in the effort for Aishin Sea Horses. Hokkaido L. maintains sixth position with 14-19 record. Defending champion Aishin Sea Horses keep the third place with eight games lost. Hokkaido L. will face Dragonflies (#9) in Hiroshima in the next round. Aishin Sea Horses will play on the road against Nishinomiya S. (#11) in Hyogo and hope to win that game.
