Regular Season Round 19: AZS AWF M. II - Pogon RS 92-56

There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked AZS AWF M. II (6-13) rolled over higher ranked Pogon RS (9-10) in Katowice 92-56 on Sunday. AZS AWF M. II forced 27 Pogon RS turnovers. Strangely Pogon RS outrebounded AZS AWF M. II 44-32 including 30 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Pogon RS's players. It was a very good performance for swingman Norbert Kujon (194-92) who helped to win the game recording 21 points. Swingman Maciej Dalak (189-95) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Four AZS AWF M. II players scored in double figures. Center Tomasz Stankala (202-91) answered with 14 points and 7 rebounds and forward Aleksander Maslanka (195-91) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Pogon RS. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AZS AWF M. II moved-up to tenth place in Group C. Loser Pogon RS keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. AZS AWF M. II will face league's leader AZS AGH Alstom in Krakow in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
