Regular Season Round 18: Sammic ISB - Valladolid 83-80

Eighth-ranked Blancos de Rueda (8-10) gave a tough game to fifth ranked Sammic ISB (12-6) in Azpeitia. Sammic ISB managed to secure only three-point victory 83-80. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts were ahead by 1 point but lost the second period ending it with a 10-point deficit before their 27-14 run, which allowed them to win the game. Croatian center Aleksandar Marcius (209-90, college: De Paul) notched 23 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Gaizka Maiza (191-96) supported him with 16 points. Even 16 points and 8 rebounds by British forward Rowell Graham (197-94) did not help to save the game for Blancos de Rueda. Point guard Arturo Fernandez (182-90) added 12 points. Four Blancos de Rueda players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Sammic ISB have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Blancos de Rueda at the other side keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Moron.
