Regular Season Round 18: Elitzur Ashkelon - Maccabi H/H 94-110

Date: February 16, 2016
Very expected game when 14th ranked Ironi Ashkelon (3-15) lost at home to seventh ranked Hasharon (8-10) 110-94 on Tuesday. Hasharon outrebounded Ironi Ashkelon 46-26 including a 15-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American players dominated the game. Guard Isaiah Sykes (198-91, college: Cent.Florida, agency: CGL Sports) notched a double-double by scoring 29 points and 16 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Rodney Alexander (201-87, college: Oklahoma City) supported him with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Five Hasharon players scored in double figures. Even 19 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists by guard Marcus Moore (198-80, college: Washington St.) did not help to save the game for Ironi Ashkelon. Forward Dominique Keller (205-88, college: Illinois) added 23 points (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hasharon maintains seventh position with 8-10 record. Ironi Ashkelon lost twelfth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 15 games lost. Hasharon will meet higher ranked Maccabi Raanana (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ironi Ashkelon will play again against Hasharon (#9) and hope to secure a win.
