Date: February 16, 2016
A very close game took place in Poitiers between Poitiers and Saint-Quentin. Fifth ranked Poitiers (10-8) got a very close home victory over 12th ranked Saint-Quentin (8-10). Poitiers managed to escape with a 3-point win 82-79 on Tuesday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Saint-Quentin. Saint-Quentin trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 28-19 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 79-82 at the end of the game. American-British power forward Laurence Ekperigin (201-88, college: Le Moyne) notched a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds to lead the effort and American point guard Darrin Dorsey (188, college: Dakota Wesleyan) supported him with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Four Poitiers players scored in double figures. Even 25 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) by American swingman Daviin Davis (193-85, college: Weber St.) did not help to save the game for Saint-Quentin. His fellow American import swingman Ryan Evans (203-90, college: Wisconsin) added 15 points and 8 rebounds. Saint-Quentin's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Poitiers maintains fifth position with 10-8 record, which they share with Provence Basket and Le Portel. Loser Saint-Quentin dropped to the eleventh place with ten games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Poitiers will meet Saint Chamond (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
