Second Stage Round 5: COR-Borisfen - Impuls BGUIR 116-63

An interesting game for COR-Borisfen (14-5) which hosted in Mogilev 3rd placed Impuls BGUIR (10-9). Second ranked COR-Borisfen had an easy win 116-63. The game without a history. COR-Borisfen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Impuls BGUIR's 36. COR-Borisfen forced 30 Impuls BGUIR turnovers and outrebounded them 43-27 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. COR-Borisfen looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Impuls BGUIR's players. Forward Evgeni Sugonyako (199-92) nailed a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and German point guard Vytautas Kamarunas (179-89) accounted for 28 points and 8 assists. Four COR-Borisfen players scored in double figures. The former international guard Maksim Shustov (186-86) came up with 14 points and 5 assists and forward Denis Sivatskiy (198-98) added 14 points respectively for Impuls BGUIR in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. COR-Borisfen maintains second place with 14-5 record having five points less than leader Vitebsk. Impuls BGUIR at the other side keeps the third position with nine games lost. COR-Borisfen will again meet Impuls BGUIR (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Impuls BGUIR's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Minsk Tsmoki II.
