Second Stage Round 7: Lietkabelis-2 - Petrochema 73-78

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Panevezys where twelfth ranked Petrochema (15-17) defeated bottom-ranked Lietkabelis-2 (7-25) 78-73. The guests were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 23-17 Lietkabelis-2's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 78-73 at the end of the game. Petrochema forced 21 Lietkabelis-2 turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Lukas Grabauskas (194-95) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Vytautas Kruzikas (203-89) contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Petrochema's coach Kestutis Narusevicius allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Forward Benas Bagdonavicius (202-91) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and power forward Gediminas Zalalis (205-95) added 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Lietkabelis-2. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Petrochema moved-up to eighth place. Newly promoted Lietkabelis-2 dropped to the bottom. Petrochema will have a break next round. Lietkabelis-2 will play again on the road against Petrochema (#8) in Jonava and hope to win that game.
